I created a Pure RAW preset in PL5 based on a youtube video I saw showing how to implement it. You won’t have the aggressive sharpening that comes with PureRAW. The implementation of DeepPrime allows for much more control. My recommendation - go with DxO Photolab 5. I use v1.5 whenever possible because it's decidedly more stable, and use the v2 only for R3 images because it's unreliable. But I don't see the same "over processing" that you're describing. Fundamentally, any ML algorithm is thrilled by data, and the R3 provides only half as much data as the R5, which will lead to less good results. It will greatly depend on the lens that you're using, which you didn't specify. There doesn't seem to be much (any?) difference.

I've been using the Deep Prime algorithm with Global Lens Sharpening enabled and disabled (distortion correction is off).

However, I recently upgraded to PureRaw 2 and have been disappointed with the results for the R3 - some of the results seem over-processed - too smooth in some places and over sharpened in others. I originally started using PureRaw 1.5 with the R5 and was amazed at the results. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a difference in how DXO PureRaw works with the R3 vs the R5.
